Welcome to The Cycle Show!

The Cycle Show is a dynamic and interactive improvisational reenactment of one complete "typical" menstrual cycle. The narrator, played by me, walks audiences through the harmonious hormonal interplay of The Cycle, while audience member participants play the parts of the key players involved: Queen Estrogen, Princess Progesterone, Lord Hypothalamus, Lady Pituitary, and The Keepers of the Womb. (costumes/instruments provided!)

What is covered in the show?

  • Internal and some external female reproductive anatomy
  • Menstrual cycle physiology
  • A short intro to Body Literacy concepts
  • Depending on audience age: a conception cycle
  • Brief discussion of period products
  • Hands-on tools and visuals such as model clay uteruses in varied sizes, a wool-felted vulva, books appropriate for all ages, model clitoris, and of course, a tactile representation of the internal female reproductive anatomy

Who is The Cycle Show for?

  • This is for women, girls, grandmothers, aunties, cousins, daughters, and sisters

  • This is for girl-dads, boy-dads, brothers, uncles, grandfathers, and any safe men in your life who love someone who has or has had a period

  • This can be adapted for young audiences, 8-12

  • This can be adapted for older audiences, think preteens and teenagers

  • This can be adapted for adults-only - and yes, the adults have a LOT of fun

  • Book this for a group of friends, a group of girls, an after school group, or a
homeschool group any time throughout the year
